Marie and the "kids"

about us

I always loved the Dalmatian breed and finaly at the ripe age of 42 I was able to
get my first one.  His call name was Sebastian and I only had him for three
short years.

I just couldn't be without a Dal and the show bug bit me so Caruso entered my
life (Ch Amera's Tail From The Darkside).  Caruso sang from the moment he
came home and shared me with his mother Jade (Willowood's Paisley Amera
Am/Can CD).  Jade was a big girl and was firm but gentle with her son.  Jade
was also very smart and a very quick learner.  She earned both her American
and Canadian CD Titles in three consecutive tries and always in ribbons.  In
fact she was the only Dalmatian to qualify in obedience at The  Dalmatian Club
of Canada National Specialty 1996 and received High In Trial.  What a thrill!

Jade left me at the age of 14 but her son Caruso left too soon at 10 years from
cancer.  He also struggled with stones.

Before I lost Caruso, Candi (Ch Amera's Metallica) came to live with us.  I loved
Candi the moment I saw her as a pup of only two weeks old.  Candi came at
the age of 6 years and was my first attempt at Agility.  Unfortunately she never
had the chance to complete her Agility Titles but she was only one of a small
number to double qualify at the DCA National Specialty in Strongsville OH in
2003 and in the ribbons to boot.  Candi decided that the ribbons she won
should be enough to make me happy so every trial after that she just had fun.
She also participated in the DCA National Specialty Veterans Class in 2005.
Candi left me very quickly in February of this year and it still hurts.

After only three months after Caruso left for the Bridge,  Cooper found his way
into my heart (Ch Amera's Master Craftsman RN)  After practice with Caruso, I
was able to put almost all of the points on Cooper including both his majors.
He is now on his way to earning his Rally Novice B title with only one leg to
go. (update Cooper now has his Rally title)  As you can probably tell by now
all of my Dalmatians, except for the first one, came from my good friend Sue
McCord.  Sue has been a good friend and mentor to me and I only regret that I
didn't get into Dalmatians earlier in my life.

My other good friend an travel buddy Pat Ross and I decided to add another
breed to my household (heaven help me).  I now have two Havanese sharing
my modest home.  Chip and Eddie(Tres Divas ElConquistador and Ch Tres
Divas Rojo Dragon).  Eddie finished very quickly with all majors.  Chip is on
the other side of the standard and while within the standard will be my
performance dog (God Willing).  We do co-own two other Havanese but they
are living with the third Diva Candace Kane.

Well that's it for now.  I will be updating this page as I go along so make sure
you come back to visit and also shop around for some great gifts.

Till next time bye from Marie and "the kids"  Cooper, Chip and Eddie
